Science
At Brain Builders Academy, our goal is to spark curiosity and inspire a love of science in our students. Our science curriculum follows the Illinois Next Generation Science Standards (IL NGSS), which provides a framework for developing a deep understanding of scientific concepts and practices.
Our science program begins at age 3 with hands-on activities and investigations to discover scientific principles and explore concepts. We use a variety of resources, games, and materials, along with real-world experiences to support their learning.
|
We believe that science education is not just about memorizing facts, but also about developing reasoning, pattern recognition, and critical thinking skills. Our curriculum is designed to develop students' abilities to ask questions, analyze data, and make evidence-based arguments. In addition to our hands-on, play-based science program, we also provide opportunities for our students to engage in real-world science experiences. We partner with local museums, nature centers, and science organizations to provide field trips and hands-on experiences that bring science to life.

We are committed to providing a science education that goes beyond the classroom. That's why we offer weekly trips to Thatcher Woods forest preserve, where our students have the opportunity to explore and learn about the natural world around them. These field trips are an integral part of our science curriculum and align with the Illinois Next Generation Science Standards. Our students engage in hands-on investigations and inquiry-based activities that deepen their understanding of scientific principles and concepts. |
Through these field trips, our students develop an appreciation for the natural world and the importance of environmental stewardship. They also develop important skills such as observation, data collection, and critical thinking that are essential for success in the 21st century.
We believe that these field trips are an essential part of our science curriculum and provide a unique learning experience that cannot be replicated in the classroom. We are committed to providing our students with the best possible education, and these field trips are just one of the many ways we achieve this goal. |
